Welcome, we hope everyone has had a productive autumn with the beautiful colours rolling through the season. It is now time to capture the stunning snow-scapes of New Zealand.

White Horse Produces Victoria University’s Recruitment Campaign

Victoria University has turned to White Horse to produce and direct their 2015 recruitment campaign.

What White Horse is bringing to this campaign is a greater emotional engagement for the audience – we’ve been looking for the story behind the students. Not just what they do, but why they do it.

Last month Darren and Ian were on location in Wellington and now Darren is locked into the final push of the post-production work.

White Horse was also commissioned to produce print media used in association with this campaign and the images for Victoria’s in-house publications.

Umbrella Man World Premier

The Umbrella Man premiered at the opening of the Wairoa Maori Film Festival in May. The film was well received and is now scheduled to play on Maori Television in July.

This was Darren’s debut as Producer and Director of a full length feature film. Ian was brought in as second writer to create a shooting script for the film.

Umbrella Man is a is a story of a loss and redemption, of hope found in unlikely places. An elderly homeless man is prepared to sacrifice everything to get a teenage boy off the streets and away from danger.

White Horse Productions Works with Major Cherry Exporter

White Horse is producing a corporate video for NZ Cherry Corp, owners of the largest covered cherry orchard in New Zealand.

The 3-5min video showcases the orchard, its operations and the new state-of-the-art pack house. We will be filming the cherry operation over its yearly cycle, following the seasons and highlighting key activities. The final product is due to be released next summer.

White Horse Shoots with Korean Superstar Gong Yoo

Darren worked with Hobie Productions to shoot this commercial for Discovery Expeditions.

This was shot on location in and around Dunedin and featuring Korean leading actor, Gong Yoo!

White Horse Assists in Documentary on Elizabeth Roberts LifeElizabeth Madox Roberts is Kentucky’s first major literary artist, older than Allen Tate and Robert Penn Warren whose work also began appearing in the 1920s.White Horse Productions was honoured to be a part of a documentary on Mrs Roberts life and was asked to film interviews of Elizabeth’s nephew and his daughter who live in the Queenstown Lakes District.

Inc’d Wins at T-Tahiti Film Festival.

As part of the awards taken by INC’d at Wairoa Film Festival last year, the film was invited to screen at T-Tahiti Film Festival last month. As part of the prize, Darren and Rob were flown to Tahiti to attend the screenings. They were overwhelmed when INC’d once again took Best Film as voted for by the audiences at the screenings around the island.

Early in May we were very pleased to hear that, thanks to the ever active Leo Koziol (Wairoa Film Festival) championing INC’d as part of his collection of shorts, the film will be enjoying a string of screenings at festivals in Sydney, Honolulu, Rarotonga, Paris and New York. We can’t wait to see how these audiences respond to the film. Should be interesting times for all of us.
