
14 Jul Maori film touches hearts- Inc’d news report on Maori Television
We are excited with the success of our recent short film INC’d, which won the Best Short Film Award, the Te Nati Festival Prize 2014, and the Best Actor Award (Rob Mokoraka) at the Wairoa Maori Film Festival in May this year.
INC’d has also been selected to screen on NZIFF’s “Nga Whanaunga Maori Pasifika Shorts 2014” programme which has been curated by Leo Koziol, Craig Fasi and Kath Akuhata Brown. This programme will screen at NZIFF in Auckland and Wellington.

INC’d Synopsis:
A Maori man enjoying the corporate life he has carved for himself in Sydney returns home for his father’s funeral. Amidst the mourning, a challenge is laid before him.
INC’d is about and a man’s struggle to reconcile his cultural commitments with the expectations of a corporate world.
Ultimately, the depth of his commitment is lost on his colleagues; his Sydney life crumbles. He returns to New Zealand and the lineage which grounds him to the most real place in the world…….Home with his family, his tribe and most importantly, his little girl.
The film was mostly shot in Southland, with an awesome cast and crew. Here are some photos from the filming:
